Patterns (1st Grade/Kindergarten)

Patterns can be seen all around us!

Everywhere in nature!

They are lines and shapes that repeat!

The lines can be curved, zigzagging or straight! The shapes can be circles, triangles or squares!

There are so many different types of patterns.

Some patterns are simple and some are very complex!

Some patterns are there for a reason and some are just pretty!

Let’s take a closer look at some patterns together!

Some animals have spots (circles) and some animals have lines (stripes)!

Some animals have patterns on their fur…

…some animals have patterns on their scales….

…birds have patterns on their feathers…

…some animals have patterns on their shells.

Some patterns are long-lasting and some patterns change very quickly!

Some patterns show growth and some show age!

You can see patterns in the park, in the forest or on the beach!

You can find patterns on the food you eat.

The patterns you can see in the spring, summer, winter and autumn change too!
